21 Days of Fast and Prayer

01/02/17 – 01/22/17

CONVOCATION

Joel 2:15-17 (New American Standard Bible)

“15Blow a trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly, 16Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and the nursing infants let the bridegroom come out of his room and the bride out of her bridal chamber. 17Let the priests, the LORD’S ministers, weep between the porch and the altar…”

PURPOSE

The 21 days of fasting is a time of consecration, surrender, and direction for a new year. It is a marvelous time for our spiritual lives. It is a time to surrender and seek the Lord. It is a time where we give Him the priority of our time in consecration and in our first fruits. This should be a time of maturity and spiritual growth. Our fast should include prayer time where we present our following petitions, requests, and supplications to our Lord.

We have declared this year a year of HOPE. Cross references:

  1. Isaiah 43:19 : S Isa 41:22; Jer 16:14-15; 23:7-8; 2Co 5:17; Rev 21:5
  2. Isaiah 43:19 : S Isa 40:3
  3. Isaiah 43:19 : S Ps 126:4; S Isa 33:21; S 35:7

Ask the Lord that this New Year would be one that no matter what we see in front of us with our natural eyes, we’re going to believe God for greater things; we’re going to believe Him for a miracle, we’re going to believe Him for the promise.

WORDS FROM PASTOR

Greetings and Blessings Beloved Brethren,

I congratulate you all for deciding to enter this season of prayer and fasting. I encourage you to read Matthew 6:5-18, which serves as a reminder of how we should fast.

We dedicate this time to our Lord, as first fruits and complete surrenderance. We want to be intimate with Him and we want to hear His voice. My prayer is that in this season of HRC, we are able to be in expectation of the new things that God will do, not only in your life, but with us as a body. We should enter His presence with joy and anticipation for all that He will do when we surrender to Him.

We expect that on each day you add your own prayers according to what the Lord deposits in your heart. Pray that the lost are saved and pray that you be the instrument God uses. Finally, pray that we be open vessels; that in 2017, “Hope against Hope”, we would have faith, we would believe and trust God to fulfill His promises.

In His Service,

Miriam & Jeremiah Torres

Pastors

That we may feel a burden for the spiritual and material needs of the people in our community and adjacent places. Pray that we may have love and passion for the lost souls. That the heart of the church would be connected to the Pastors heart; that they would not under esteem where God has placed them. 8

Day 9 – (January 10) Let us pray for every Empower night and its programming. That it will be an intentional time of empowerment and growth for every ministry. Pray that there be a spirit of unity among every ministry to come together as the body. Pray for surrenderance to God’s leading and prompting. Pray that as individuals, each one of us would see the importance of connecting to the body, and brothers/sisters in Christ. Pray for the families, that a manifestation of love, peace, and joy be felt in their homes.

Day 10 – (January 11) Let us intercede for the Intercession Ministry of this house. The vision for the intercession is clear and specific. That God may single out and raise up intercessors for this new season. That the Lord be the one who places the demand over our intercessors. That there may always be watchmen standing in the gap for this ministry, this city, and the state of Connecticut. That the Lord may raise up an army of intercessors. Pray that God may give them discernment and eagle’s eyes to discern the need of this house. (Take time to intercede and cry out on this day).

9

Day 11 – (January 12) Let us pray for the north of Hartford, the city, and state. Pray for the wells of revival that once moved in the city, will once again be stirred up to touch, not only Hartford, but the state as well. Habakkuk 2:14. Pray for the State Representatives, the Mayor, our Senators, the Governor of this state, and our President Donald Trump. Let us pray for the police, the firemen, and the teachers of our city. That God may place men and women filled with the Holy Spirit in key positions of this state. Let us pray the prayer of Psalms 127:1. Pray for key positions that will be vacant to be filled with God fearing men and women.

Day 12 – (January 13) Pray that the church would arise and take her place, that she would govern according to the purpose of God in this season. Let us pray Jesus’ prayer found in John 17. Pray for the unity of the body of Christ and the manifestation of the spiritual gifts in our midst. Let us pray for the unity of mind and spirit; that we would work with one goal in mind, and govern with His power and authority. Please pray for tonight’s service with the churches from the community. Pray that pastors are touched and sense the weight; that we may unite for a greater cause, “His kingdom”.

10

Day 13 – (January 14) Pray according to 1 Corinthians 12. Pray that there be diverse spiritual gifts in our midst under one same Spirit. That God would impart the manifestation of His Spirit to every individual, by way of the gifts of wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing; and power of miracles, prophecies, discernment of spirit, tongues, and interpretation of tongues. That the diversity of the body be manifested although we are ONE body. Pray that there be an awakening and spiritual revival through the manifestation of a move of the Holy Spirit for the season we’re living in. Pray that God would bring conviction and stir up the hearts of the people with a desire to serve selflessly. That the spirit of individualism and, “it’s all about me”, be broken, and that the body would operate under the spiritual gifts given to edify His church.

The necessity of Self-control

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one

gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”

11

Day 15 – (January 16) Haggai 2:5-9, pray in favor of financial miracles for this house. Pray for a financial breakthrough; believe God for the millions of dollars needed to pay off the mortgage. We continue to believe that God can do a financial miracle in spite of the economy. Let us live under His promises declaring that He is the owner of all silver and gold. Pray that the financial blessing will not be limited to this church, but that it may reach your home because of your fidelity to Him. Pray for the projected budget, that every category would be met and for God to touch the hearts of the people to give, that they may see giving as part of their worship.

Day 16 – (January 17) Let us pray for the Pastoral Counseling Center, and the need for new Counselors. That God would give the counselors the discernment and wisdom to counsel not only with knowledge but with divine wisdom, to bring healing and wholeness to the broken hearted and to give hope to the hopeless through His power. Pray for the families, pray for the single mothers. Pray for an increase of a “Fathering” spirit for Hartford’s children. Ephesians 3:15, Luke 15:11-32, Malachi 4:6. Pray for families, and single moms and dads; pray that the diverse issues that plague our society be resisted and conquered by the power that operates in them, the power of the resurrected Christ!

12

Day 17 – (January 18) Pray for the Restoring Lives Ministry, CDC that God may give us the resources and the personnel with the passion and correct heart to work. That God may give the people who lead this ministry the grace to project the overall vision. Pray that God would bring the people with the right heart.

Day 18 – (January 19) Pray for God to do a new thing! Pray for the seven mountains: Religion, Government, Family, Arts & Entertainment, Media, Business, and Education. Pray that the purpose of God be established in every one of these areas which affect our society.

13

Day 19 – (January 20) Please pray for the upcoming weekend, the Leader’s Retreat and the First Fruit service. Pray for the Pastors who will be ministering and for a mighty move of the Spirit during the weekend. Let us pray that we approach the weekend with an earnest desire to see Him move within the church and its leaders. Let us pray for a renewed spirit of worship and intercession within the church.

Day 20 – (January 21) Please pray for Pastor Mizraím Esquilín and the service on Sunday, that there would be a supernatural move of God. Pray that the Lord use Pastor Esquilín with a precise word for this time. Pray for a manifestation of signs, miracles and wonders. Pray that it would be a year of favor and grace for every disciple at HRC. Give Him praise for giving you the victory and the power to be faithful during these 21 days. Pray for the Spirit to guide you and lead you as you are preparing to finish the course you have started.

14

Day 21 – (January 22) Thank the Lord for giving you the strength and the determination in finishing these 21 days of fast. Pray for sensitivity of the spirit over your life to hear when He calls you into a time of consecration during the rest of the year. Pray for a hunger of God and His presence during the rest of the year. That He may complete anything that He started during these past 20 days. Let us pray that this New Year we would believe God and Hope against Hope, no matter what our natural eyes may see, let us have faith, believe God, and trust we’ll see the promise!

Congratulations! What a victory…You did it!

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race,

I have kept the faith.”

2 Timothy 4:7

Stay focused and continue to hear His voice.

Useful Principles to understand the First Fruits

First fruits represent the first thing you receive. By being the first thing, the Bible teaches us that the first fruits belong to God. In the Old Testament we use the model of the first fruits to receive the benefits of the rest of our seed. How you start, will determine how you finish. I pray that this information will help you understand the principles and encourage you to participate in this powerful event.

During the month of January we will participate in bringing our first fruits. I want you to understand that it is not limited to just January but each time you receive a raise you should bring your first fruits to God. The results will be powerful for you and a testimony to your family.

Principle #1. Do not delay your first fruit, Exodus 22:29

  • First fruit is brought at the beginning of the year.
  • Principle #2. When is the blessing established?, Dt. 26:1
  • When you have entered the land God promised you as inheritance. You and I have entered that promised land.
  • Principle #3. Prepare your basket, Dt. 26:2
  • Take a basket and prepare it as testimony to your family. It is also evidence that you honored God with your first fruit and it serves as a reminder during the year.
  • Principle #4. Bring to the house of the Lord, Dt. 26:2 (b)
  • It is the place He has chosen.
  • Principle #5. Present it to the priest, Dt. 26:3
  • On this day the Pastors will be present to receive the first fruits from the people.
  • Principle #6. The priest will place them in the altar. Dt. 26:4
  • This symbolizes the acceptance of your offering by someone in spiritual authority.
  • Principle #7. Give testimony and worship, Dt. 5-19
  • It’s important to testify and worship. It is to recognize that it’s not by human efforts but by God’s grace and blessing.
  • Principle #8. It is Holy Convocation, Numbers 28:26
  • This day should be meaningful to you because you make a covenant with a principle that God established to bless you.

“For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.”

Romans 11:16
